The first five books of the Bible are called the “Pentateuch” which
is a Greek term meaning "the five books." The Pentateuch includes
the first five books of the Bible — Genesis,
Exodus, Leviticus,
Numbers,
and
Deuteronomy. These books are often called “the Law,” but in
addition to many of God's laws they include history, poems, songs, and
narratives about God's dealings with His people from the Creation to the
death of Moses. These books were written by Moses and thus are called the
"books of Moses" by many.
