Evidence of Prophesy
| Prophesy | Fulfillment |
1 | Deuteronomy 28:53-57 and Luke 21:5-36 make detailed prophesies of the destruction of Jerusalem that Jesus said would occure in his generation. | In 70 A.D. Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed by the Romans just as Jesus and Moses had prophesied years before. |
2 | Isaiah 44:28 and 45:1 state that a man named Cyrus would lead the Persians in overtaking the world and rebuilding Jerusalem. | II Chronicles 36:22-23, the book of Ezra and ample record of History shows that this very thing took place. |
3 | Jeremiah 25:11-12 prophesies that the nation of Judah would be captured by Babylons for seventy years. | The book of Ezra and secular History reveal that this is exactly what took place. |
4 | In Ezekiel 26:4-5 it is prophesied that the city of Tyrewould be a place of desolation where fishermen would spread there nets. | An investigation of the place where this ancient city once thrived will show that these conditions exist just as the Bible said hundreds of years before. |
5 | The book of Daniel details the rise and fall of four major kingdoms. See chapters 2, 7, and 8. In some cases the kingdoms are specifically named. | There is a clear succession in History of four major empires from Daniel's time. These being Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome. |
6 | Daniel 11 details struggles within the Greecian empire, especially involving a northern kingdom and a southern kingdom. | History reveals just such a struggle. Specifically between Syria and Egypt. This took place centuries after Daniel spoke this prophesy. |
7 | Micah 5:2, Hosea 11:1 and Jeremiah 31:15 make detailed prophesies of the Lord's birthplace and escape to Egypt to avoid Herod's massacre of babies in Bethlehem. | Mathew 2:1-22 shows how the first two or three years of the life of Jesus fulfill these prophesies exactly. |
Evidence of Science
| Science | Scripture |
1 | In 1735 a scientist said there were three kingdoms: mineral, plant and animal. | Genesis 1:1-10 (mineral), Genesis 1:11-20 (plant), Genesis 1:21-28 (animal). |
2 | In the 15th century man thought the world was flat. | Isaiah 40:22 clearly speaks of the earth being round. |
3 | In past centuries man believed the earth rested on something. | Job 26:7 speaks of the earth being suspended in space. |
4 | In recent years science has discovered an empty place in the northern skies. | Job 26:7 spoke of that empty place centuries ago. |
5 | In 1543 scientists first suggested that planets and stars move. | Job 38:31-32 spoke of the movement of the stars long ago. |
6 | In the 18th century Benjamen Franklin discovered that lightning comes from condensing water in the clouds. | Jeremiah 10:13 speaks of the effect clouds and rain has in producing lightning. |
7 | Recently scientists have discovered that stars emit a musical pitch. | Job 38:7 spoke of the singing stars centuries before. |
8 | Centuries ago the science of oceanography was born when it was discovered there were currents in the ocean. | Psalms 8:8 reveals the inspired David knew of these paths years ago. |
9 | In recent years science has discovered that snow and ice contain treasures of nitrogen which is benaficial to crops. | Job 38:22 spoke of these treasures centuries before science ever made the discovery. |
10 | The wonders of science allows for the transmision of radio signal with electricity. | Job 38:35 speaks of voice being transmitted by lightning years before science accomplished this. |
Evidence of Archaeology
| Scripture | Archaeology |
1 | Jesus attributes the earlier writings of the Old Testament to Moses. For years schollars laughed at this saying that writing did not even exist in the times of Moses. | Late in 1901 and early 1902 the Code of Hammurabi (Amraphel of Genesis 14:1) was discovered which revealed that writing existed as early as 2250 b.c. |
2 | Israel suffered at the hands of many nations. At times they enjoyed peace and indipendance. But at other times they were provinces of such nations as Egypt and Babylon. Much of the Old Testament deals with these events of Israel's History. | In 1887 300 clay tablets were found near the Nile River. These were called the Tel el-Amama Tablets. They speak of conditions in Palestine that exactly verify the Bible account. |
3 | The Bible speaks of wars between Assyria and Syria and how Assyria eventually conquered Syria and Israel. | The British museum has an ancient find called the Black Obelisk. It gives details of these wars verifying the Bible record. |
4 | The Bible speaks of Israel being enslaved by the Egyptians for 430 years. During this time they made bricks with straw and later were forced to make them without straw. For years experts doubted the validity of this story. | The ancient city of Pithom has been found in Egypt revealing structures built out of strawed bricks up to a point and then without straw. Once again the Bible is proven to be true. |
5 | One of the nations discussed often in the Old Testement were the Hittites. Skeptics made light of the Bible claiming that no record of such a people exists. | Discoveries of old records in Egypt and Assyria reveal that the Hittite nation did exist in Bible times, proving the Bible right and experts wrong. |
6 | The book of Genesis says Abraham came from a city called Ur of the Chaldees. Skeptics once believed the city never existed and the Bible record is wrong. | In more recent times the city of Ur has been excavated, studied and thoroughly explored. The Bible is once again right and skeptics were wrong. |
7 | In Genesis 6 and 7 we read of a world wide flood sent by God to punish sinful man. Scientists still doubt this story, dismissing it as fairy tale. | More and more fossils of sea going species are found in high altitude areas and on top of great mountains. Men may scoff at the Bible but this kind of evidence shows the story of the flood to be true. |
