The Roman Empire
Approximate Boundaries Of The Roman Empire At Its Peak

Special Map Notes

The Roman Empire extended further west and north beyond the boundaries of this map.  The Romans controlled the African coastal regions of the Mediterranean Sea across the continent toward the area just south of Spain.  They claimed territory northward into Europe and up through most of Great Britain.  Though they controlled more territory than this map covers, the area shown is sufficient to give the reader a general idea of the extent of the Roman Empire.
